This Blog is running a little late because of an unexplained technical problem in two locations on the Baltic coast. The following message came when I tried to publish a post:

I couldn't find anything that might cause this concern but in any case, the blog didn't work.
Now we have travelled the invasion path along to Poland, entering just east of Berlin instead of the road to Gdansk where heavy traffic and major construction reduced travel to a snail's pace.
The first stop in Poland was Auschwitz where, in spite of huge crowds, we had a 3 hour guided tour in English which was enough to appreciate the horror of events there. The previous day we visited Hitler's V-2 rocket base at Peenemunde and his failed social experiment called Prora on the island of Rugen. It's worth googling images at "Prora" to see the scale of this venture which is now in ruins. Photos later.
